My reminders or alarms aren't firing
This is almost always the phone's battery saver quietly putting Orchia to sleep, especially on Samsung phones. To fix it:
- Open your phone's Settings > Apps > Orchia > Battery and set it to Unrestricted (on Samsung, also check Settings > Battery > Background usage limits and make sure Orchia isn't in the "sleeping apps" lists).
- Make sure notifications are allowed for Orchia, and that Alarms & reminders permission is on (Settings > Apps > Orchia > Alarms & reminders).
- Orchia also shows a guided setup card on the home screen if it detects a risky battery configuration. Following that card does the same steps.
One Android quirk to know: if you force-stop the app from settings, Android cancels all scheduled alarms until the next time you open the app. Closing it normally is fine.
My schedule isn't syncing between devices
Orchia syncs when the app is open and refreshes when you return to it. If something looks out of date:
- Pull down to refresh on the home screen.
- Check your connection. Changes made offline are saved on the device and upload automatically once you're back online.
- For a full push and pull in one go, use Settings > Sync Now.
If a change from another device still doesn't appear after that, email me with what you expected to see and roughly when you made the change.
The verification or password reset email never arrived
- Check spam. Emails come from [email protected], and some providers treat new senders cautiously. Adding that address to your contacts helps.
- There's a 60 second cooldown between emails to the same address, so wait a minute before resending.
- Open the link on the phone that has Orchia installed. The link opens the app itself, so it won't do much on a desktop browser.
Managing or canceling my subscription
Subscriptions are billed through Google Play, not by me directly. You can change your plan from Settings > Manage Subscription in the app, and pausing or canceling hands you off to the Play Store, where those controls live. Refunds also go through Google Play's normal refund process.
Important: deleting your Orchia account does not cancel a Play subscription. Cancel in the Play Store first if you're leaving.
Deleting my account
In the app: Settings > Data Management > Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and data from Orchia's servers. If you want a copy of your data first, use Export My Data on the same screen. Full details are on the account deletion page.
Joining the alpha
Orchia is currently in early access testing. You can request an invite from the signup form on the home page. I review every submission and email invites as spots open, so keep an eye on your inbox and spam folder.
